Qing Dynasty Chinese Rose Medallion Porcelain Large Bowl, Marked
Figural Chinese Warrior & Floral Decor
Mark: Iron-red ~ Qing Guangxu six-character mark surrounded by two red concentric circles at the bottom or base
Circa 1875-1908
The bowl's
surface
exterior and upper interior is exquisitely handpainted lavishly with rose medallion enamel colors of butterflies, fruits & floral decor of large bloomed pink peonies.
Exterior panels is of three maidens/ ladies a courtyard.
The interior center is a
scene of a Chinese Warrior in action seemingly being judged by 3 figural man.
Measurements: 6 1/2" tall, 13 3/4" rim , base 6 1/4"
Great to excellent condition for age, there are no breaks nor chips or repairs. Enamel colors are well kept and vibrant with expected mild color rubbed off from handling and age.
