Description
This nicely preserved ceramic bowl was made in the later part of Qing dynasty.This particular item was reviewed by the experts of the Chinese antiquity society and determined to be a genuine article from that period.
There is no crack of chips on rims. The black dots on the inside of the bowl are what they called the “rust spots”. It can not be replicated by modern reproductions. The rust spots are created from the metallic minerals in the clay during the making of this bowl.
This particular bowl was manufactured by the civilian makers of its era. It does not have any inscription on the bottom, unlike the ones with seals or inscriptions from the imperial makers of its time.
This item was from a private collection. The former owner was an ambassador from Republic of China who was one of the high ranking officials serving under KMD. This item was then pass on to one of his old comrade and later given to my family as a wedding gift.
It measures approximately 9” L, 2.5” H, 7” W
