Century Peach Design Polychrome Overglaze Ovoid Taza Plate

century “Peach Design” ovoid taza plate. Taza plates have a tall foot. The plate is exceptionally thin a sign of quality. The rim of this piece is scalloped in a lotus form. The bowl interior is decorated with yellow and purple fruit on flowing stems with green leaves. This medallion decoration is surrounded by two red lines. The rim is bordered in yellow, red, purple and green flowers. The underside of the rim is decorated with alternating deep red stylized bats and red flowers. The foot exterior is decorated in a grass design. Great bubbly surfaces, a sign of a wood firing. This piece was probably made in the 1870s-1880s. A great example from the late Qing Dynasty.
The jar has no chips, cracks or hairlines. The edges are rough but this is an artifact of the pieces production. A piece in great condition and about as close to original production as they come.
