Chinese Antique Zhangzhou Swatow Carp Charger Bowl No. 2 Engraved

Description

Zhangzhou ware, more commonly known as Swatow ware .  Each bowl is unique & has its own character & human touch. The center depicts a carp in swift & graceful brushwork which is symbol of abundance & well being. This piece also has a character engraved under the fish is a name - carved into identify the owner, possibly from living in a commune where communal dining was involved-It usually identifies the age as about 100 years old or older
