    Description

2 Antique Chinese porcelain 7 petal lotus shaped bowls, decorated with celadon crackle glaze, I love the way the celadon pools in recessed areas creating a delicate darker shade of color, similar to Qingbai Ware, low fired porcelain, a Song Dynasty Guan Ware revival form, made ca.1830 - 1840's, Emperor Daoguang period of the Ch'ing Dynasty, microscopic analysis of the glaze shows microscopic scratches and fractures, and sparsely spaced bubbles varying greatly in size, many in a state of "death", turning shades of dark brown, the orange coloration on the unglazed base, is normally due to coming into contact with a clay saggar in an old style kiln, the original form was used as a warming stand for a ewer ( Ref. "Chinese Ceramics ...", editor Li Zhiyan et al, fig. 6.50 ), general good antique condition with small chips, the approximate size of each is 6.5 inches wide x 5.5 inches tall
